Can I use an icon that isn't on the allowlist, like a back arrow or a payment icon?

Yes. Any Font Awesome Pro icon may be used, except weapons, logos and trademarks, religious symbols and anything aggressive or alarmist.

A reviewed list has to be kept current as needs change, and without a service doing that work it goes stale and slows people down more than it protects them.
